Understanding Data Services

• Data Services are rich in transforming data and used in batch data transfer.
• For data Services we have a user interface called as Work-Bench.
• There are 2 main components.

1. Job Server.
2. Repository.

• In SAP-ECC , data is called as content and container ( which holds data or content ) is called as metadata.
• To transfer metadata from SAP ECC to SAP-HANA , first we need to import the metadata into repository.
• Repository is a collection of metadata which contains Container information's.
• From repository pass the metadata to the SAP-HANA to create the Table ( Table structure ).
• Using Job Server we can transfer the data or content from SAP-ECC to SAP-HANA.
