Melbourne, Australia: SAP Development Team Lead

 A great opportunity exists for an SAP Development Team Lead to join our well known, Melbourne based client on a 12-month contract.

You will be part of the IT Enterprise Solutions team, responsible for the delivery of IT application enhancements and support, providing SAP technical design, development, and support for the backend SAP functions.

Skills and experience required:

• Extensive SAP ABAP Development experience
• Extensive experience in SAP application development
• Extensive experience in SAP CRM
• Experienced managing onshore and offshore developers
• Demonstrated ability to problem-solve
• Experience with the full software development life cycle and various development methodologies (i.e., Waterfall, ASAP)
• Good understanding of current and emerging SAP technologies
• Strong background in programming and an ability to adapt to other programming languages and tools

Responsibilities include:

• Handle performance management cycle for direct reports
• Assist direct reports with achievement of their development goals
• Ensure that the team resources are allocated appropriately to special initiatives and projects
• Ensure a continued focus on resolution of incidents and problems in line with IT SLAs
• Work directly with internal business customers and technical peers to clarify requirements, design technical solutions and implement changes
• Delivery of assigned Project and Support development tasks including, Technical design, Unit test and Documentation
• Ensure all developments are designed to be user friendly, error tolerant, reusable and performant
• Monitor and maintain a prioritized queue of application issues
• Contribute to SAP development standards and guides
• Provide design and quality assurance reviews for other team members in line with the development standards and guides
• Problem-solve and resolve production issues
• Work with system testers and business customers to test changes
• Provide feedback and recommendations on technical or process improvements
• Stay up to date with industry best practice, emerging technologies, and SAP roadmap and suggest appropriate training as required
