What is the role?
Applications are sought from suitably qualified candidates wishing to be considered for the role of Team Member within the Pinkenba Hub Logistics team located in Brisbane, Queensland.
The AFP is a key contributor to the Australian Government’s Pacific Strategy. Pacific Command leads AFP’s engagement with Pacific Police partners with the primary focus to promote regional stability and to prevent and disrupt transnational crime threats. Pacific Command is responsible for delivering the Commissioner and Government’s strategic intent, with a significant focus on implementing the Pacific Policing Initiative (PPI) to strengthen partnerships and boost capabilities across the Pacific.
The newly opened Pacific Coordination and Development Hub (Pinkenba Hub) is a critical Pillar of the PPI and will be a training and education facility to support the initiative, and Pacific Policing Partners further and development. The site has capacity to host 200+ of AFP members and Pacific secondments which requires dynamic and cost-effective logistics capability that effectively supports the core business of the Pinkenba Hub. The role of Team Member is critical to providing contemporary, dynamic and cost-effective logistics capability that effectively supports the core business of the Pinkenba Hub. This includes planning and execution of, general logistics, fleet management and procurement. As Team Member, you will be required to support, develop and implement activities to better support the operational needs of the Hub.
As a Team Member in the AFP, you will be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments. It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position outlined below.
What will you do?
This position works as part of a small team responsible for the effective delivery of logistics and general support to the Pinkenba Hub, including responsibility for:
Monitor, stock levels including purchasing, tracking, controlling inventory, issuing and return of controlled items and update of the relevant databases.
Monitor Asset Register including accurate records of System Application Product (SAP), incoming and outgoing asset transfer records and issuing to members upon completion of specialist programs.
Dispatch and receipt of land, sea and air freight, including dangerous goods and controlled items in line with relevant jurisdiction legislative and regulatory requirements.
Coordination of maintenance and repairs for storage facilities.
Provide logistic support during the planning, preparation and deployment of specialist capability to support AFP operations both domestically and internationally.
Prepare freight forwarding and receipt of freight including dangerous goods domestically and internationally.
Undertake projects, research and other tasks as required to support the Hub operations.
Procurement:
Raise Basic Spending Proposals, High and Low Values Spending Proposals, Purchase Orders and create shopping carts.
Invoice review, goods receipt and confirmation upon delivery.
Official file creation and file management.
Successful candidates will also:

Maintain a high standard of attention to detail.
Manage own work, to meet tight deadlines and forward plan.

Essential Requirements:
You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.
A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Demonstrated experience providing high-level administrative support.
Strong knowledge in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Highly developed attention to detail, organisational and time management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to autonomously manage a high workload.
